Michele has been featured on several hip hop albums. She attended Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York, and graduated with a vocal performance degree. Michele led gospel choirs in high school.
Her father was a sociologist and her mother a psychologist.
Michele was born in Central Islip, New York, and grew up in Patchogue. Surrounded by music since she was a small child, twenty-four year old singer, songwriter and composer Chrisette Michele has been blessed with an old soul and this Long Island bred songwriter and vocalist has a deep appreciation for the harmonic foundations that includes gospel and jazz.
